Where to drain the sink.

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

That would not surprise me one bit... Looks like I will go back an include the grey tank into my design as originally planned, just to keep those guys quite...

Doug, Walmart still welcomes motorhomes and RVs...........at least in this part of the country! I regularly pass 6 Wallyworlds and they all have overnighters...............including 18-wheelers at one of them I know of.

I think I will plan the same thing. I kind of figured it would be best to have some sort of drain tank. Now, where exactly do I put it...

Sorry to hear that, Doug. When a lot of people lose privilages it is usually because a few have no scrupples. I'm greatful that isn't the case around here. Walmart parking lots have always been a safe haven for the traveling RV'r.

I was thinking of just using a 5 gallon bucket to dump it in and then carrying it to the washroom to dump.

Hmmm, I like that idea too. Easier to dump it since I wouldn't have to drive the trailer somewhere and connect it to a dumping place. Ya, I think I might use a 5 gallon bucket. Thanks. :applause:

I'm hearing that some campgrounds don't consider that "contained."

What about a plastic pail with a lid on it with a hose running into it? Are campgrounds down there really that sticky? Last summer camping we didn't have any problem just dumping the dishpan on the bushes.

I haven't even come close to experiencing anything such as what's being discussed here in this thread...
As far as I know... Bushes still work here.

Heck, trees still work here too, case in point, a certain tree named Luna had an individual living in it for two years, gotta wonder what sort of environmental impact that situation provided. Luna & the Lunatic.

Dean, just keep it simple. There is better use for the space in a teardrop than putting a holding tank in it.

A 5 gallon tank is only about $36.00 at your local RV Store. Slides under any teardrop and then stores like a suit case when your traveling.

Have a good day,

Thanks Gage,
Those things are cool and they are contained... Heck of a lot easier to wheel that thing over to the bushes too...
Keep it Simple... I've been told that before.
(OMG... I think a good part of my life could be summed up as to how I Haven't Kept it Simple...) :?
I will have an area under the deck, right under the sink that will be skirted by my sides... It's 5" in height, 15" deep and 58 1/4" wide.
I'm planning on dropping my fresh water tank down through the deck to gain that extra 5" of space also...
My fresh water tank will be situated in front of this area on the otherside of a crossmember...
Originally, I was going to have a rear reciever, but I've nixed that idea for now...
Oh Yaa, Keep it Simple... I'm sure a full grey tank situated clear in the back like that could have a heck of an effect on the tounge weight...
