That was what I wanted to hear, but is that a true 2 by 2, or does it measure 1 1/2 by 1 1/2?

Pine I can definitely afford without too much pain.

Actually, they are ripped 2 X 4's, which makes them 1 1/2" by about 1 3/4".

Here is some more progress for you all... I have added the rest of the supports and installed the insulation along the sides. Tomorrow I am going to order the windows for the doors and start to lay out the cabnets and galley....

What are you gonna get out of that? Like a NINE rating?

And you measured that spar in the front to see that the air conditioning fits, right? Or are you venting it to the galley?

The insulation is only a R5..... But it is better than the white stuff...

The A/C is going to be located in the back corner where it is in the picture. I am going to raise it up about 5" to clear the matress and bedding.

Mine's a 5 too, at 3/4. Not expensive at all.

And did you get to play with the expanding foam in the can yet? I did a little, and that stuff is INCREDIBLE. You squirt a drop, and it immediately expands to this enormous size.

SO SQUIRT WISELY!

Also, if you oversquirt, let it dry first a little (it dries pretty quickly), and then scrape off. Otherise, it's a MESS!

Well I made a little more progress. The windows arrived today so I made the rough cuts in the doors and set the windows into the holes.... Its getting there.

Yap, I am going to frame them up just like the walls. I will have to create some sort of trim/border around the inside to give them a nice finished look though. I am not sure about the outer finish yet so the windows will be permanently istalled later. I was going to fiberglass the entire trailer but I think that is overkill not to mention time consuming and costly. I am going to order some ArmorPoxy paint and test it on a piece of ply to see what kind of results I get.....

Hey Greg, your project is really taking shape, your doors will really set it off! I have in the past, used laminate(Formica) to wrap the perimeter of doors, it will bend easy and if its glued right (contact Cement) it will hold up real well it comes in solids or woodgrain, just a thought, as I will go that route when i do mine!! keep up the great work!! Thanks for the kind words and the great suggestion! I am going to be ordering my paint soon. It is called ArmorPoxy. They use this stuff for everything including boats. I am going to test it out on a piece of ply to see what kind of results I get. If they are good as I expect they will be then I will just coat the door frame with that. It will also match the outside of the tear that way....
