New From Texas

Postby Don Dickey » Sun Aug 24, 2008 8:51 pm

I have been looking at all of the great comments over the past few months and decided that it was time to get started. With grandchildren from California to North Carolina, my wife and I decided to build our own tear drop camper to allow us to travel a little more. We now live in Texas, but we also lived in Georgia for many years and have some family in Southwest Missouri. We plan to make use of the teardrop for some of these trips.

The frame for our trailer is the Tractor Supply 4' X 8', which we bought in June. The frame and deck have been completed and the sides have been cut out. The finishing has started, but will continue for some time due to changing weather conditions here in Texas.

The suggestions and ideas presented on this forum have really been helpful and I'm sure that I'll have many more questions before I finish.

Welcome to the forum!

Looks like you have a great start on your teardrop build. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hope the weather breaks soon so you can make progress on your tear.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have been lurking around a bit already. Great to have more on board from the central Texas area. We're just down the road from ya'll, in New Braunfels.
Seems like you are off to a good start. I'm just finishing our TD at this point, and this place is a great place for any information you might need. Ask and you will get answers! I built on the same TSC/Carry-on trailer that you've got. Keep us all posted on your progress, and keep up the pics. Holler if you need help with any local materials sources.

Image to the playground Don and family. Sounds like you got a good start and will need a TD to do all that traveling. 8) Now don't forget the pictures to keep the bubble oil level. :applause:
