I'm real disappointed. For some unknown reason walking has become difficult. So, I won't be camping at the SLO Gathering this coming week. Chris and Dan "Italia" and John Bonnet "jhb" will take charge of the gathering. I'm hoping to come by for awhile on Saturday.
Most people who are coming came to the first SLO Gathering. John's offer/threat to bring raccoons from Los Osos to Lopez Lake campground is probably an idle one. It is, isn't it John? If not we'll need to call on some new SLO Angles.

John says he'll probably bring a BBQ to use Friday evening. Last year we BBQ'd tri-tip steaks on Friday. It was a fun reason to meet, eat and socialize. It became a surprisingly good, unplanned, potluck too. So if you have some meat to put on the barbie please bring it by for a Meat and Greet. (OK, John?)

Saturday evening about 5:30 PM is the time I'd planned for us all to start the pot luck. Check with Chris, Dan, or John for any updates.
If you need to shop there's a Trader Joe's in Arroyo Grande and another in SLO. They're good places to pick up tasty food and drink. SLO has a Costco just off Los Osos Valley Road westerly of 101. Several grocery stores are located along Grand Ave. in Arroyo Grande. Most of them west of 101. If you forgot something, or need more ice, Lopez Lake has a small camp $tore. too.
If you'd like a fun afternoon or evening out check out one of the local farmer's markets that'll happen during the SLO Gathering. All are enjoyable and different from each other.
The biggest one, the San Luis Obispo Thursday Night Farmer's Market, goes from 6 to 9 PM in downtown San Luis Obispo on Higuera Street. There are several blocks filled with farm fresh fruit and veggie stands, a block with a wide choice of BBQ and food stands for some temptingly good eating, several choices of entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy people watching.
On Friday Sept. 12th the the last
Avila Beach Fisherman's and Farmers Market of the summer season will be happening from 4 to 8 PM on the beach front boardwalk. It's very fun. It's a smaller farmer's market with some really tasty fresh seafood food booths at the foot of the Avila Beach pier. Parking is free. It can fill up if you arrive late. Shival Experience, a popular local Reggae band, will be playing. Flipflops are optional.
On Saturday from noon till 2:30 PM Arroyo Grande has their
Arroyo Grande Farmer's Market and free Summer Concert Series by the creek in the historic village section of town.
The weather reports are expecting some light morning fog, nights in the 50s, and days in the 70s to 80s.
SLO area weather Around here it's good to bring clothes that you can layer. Days at the lake will probably be good shorts and tee shirt days.
Hope everyone has a really good time!
