I mitered the corners on the abrasive saw then layed it out on the floor. My buddy helped me with the corner to corner measurements, then he welded it up. Towed it home the same night.

The axle I used is a Dexter Torsion axle. You order them pre-built then weld or bolt the flanges to the frame. The axles are custom ordered, they will ask you the weight capacity, width of the frame, the overall width, the amount of angle you want on your arms, hub face size, hub bolt pattern, etc.

The torsion axles allow you to weld directly to the frame, no leaf springs or shackles to worry about. It's all built into the axle.

How much money do you have in your axle and wheels?

Randy and Tom,

It would be great if you would delete a little more of other people's posts that you're replying to. This topic is getting to be mostly repeated, rather than new, content.

I got the wheels and tires from Ebay. The wheels are chrome American Racing Smoothies I think I got them for $55 ea. The seller was a dealer so I went ahead and bought tires from him also. I don't remember what they cost but I think it cost just shy of $100 ea to my door (shipping, mounting, wheels, tires included). I was originally looking into buying trailer tires at Wally-Mart. It would have been a lot cheaper but these looked really cool.

I ordered the axle from a local trailer place. Well, not so local because it was about 100miles away. Anyway, I oredred it from there because I thought I wouldn't have to pay shipping becasue I picked it up there. I think the axle was $140 shipping was $40+tax. It would have been the same price from the internet since I had to pay for shipping anyway and there is no tax.
