Boilermaker at heart, Floridian for Work

Howdy all! I just wanted to post a hello and introduce myself.
I was born and raised in St. Louis, moved to Indiana for my university education at Purdue and have recently moved to Central Gulf Coast Florida to practice. I'm a Doctor of Audiology and specialize in equilibrium disorders.
I am getting ready to build my first teardrop and am looking forward to it. I plan to make it a 6 month project. We'll see how close to that I can make it. I have plans and schematics in my head and on the computer for a 5x5x10' teardrop.
I've really found the information in the pictures I've seen and the posts I've read to be really amazing. Lots of good experience here to help every builder!
Just thought I'd introduce myself and GO BOILERS!

Hello K,

Welcome to the Forum, glad to see another Floridian on board. You got here just in time, we have lottsa folks that are about a half a bubble off. Would that be considered an equilibrium disorder? 8)

I guess it all depends on what a bubble off is exactly :) Let me venture a guess, you drink enough homebrewed refreshments your bubble level is constantly off? :)

Image
A closed glass tube of circular cross section, usually set in a device or instrument; nearly filled with liquid, so that a bubble is formed, the centering of which is used to determine true horizontal or vertical directions; a level.

My "half a bubble off" comment was meant to mean we have some wacky, fun loving, slightly strange folks here. But I assure you they are on the level. 8)

And REALLY easily treatable. Hot Fact: 50% of all people by the age of 70 suffer from BPPV at one point in their life.

I have no idea what BPPV is. I have tinnitus, but I have mentioned it to two doctors, and both just shrugged it off. I'm learning to ignore it.

You ever notice when someone admits to being a doctor, everyone starts telling him/her their ailments? :D
God Bless

Hey Kyacker,
Next time anyone starts to tell you their aches and pains just say "Yes I have a pain in the butt, it started the day I hung my shingle out".
Good evening to you,
Bill
Hope to see you on the road.

This Spring I developed a good case of vertigo!! It made us cancel a planned trip to the Mount Rushmore area. Thanks to my ENT Doctor I am under control for now.
So build your teardrop and take care of people. Best of luck. :) :)
