McGee Creek - CANCELLED... thanks "Ike"

Postby oklahomajewel » Sun Sep 07, 2008 9:55 am

I had unofficially planned on camping somewhere down towards Atoka, OK or Durant, OK and my friend Phil says McGee Creek State Park is great ... great fishing and campground. Can't reserve a spot at a State Park though...

EDIT:::: Thanks to "Ike" we're slated for 60% chance of rain for Fri, Sat and Sunday.....

I think I'll rent movies instead ... order pizza...

Julie-
I haven't ever camped at McGee Creek, but have driven through once. It looked pretty good.
If you haven't ever been to the Amish festival, you will have a great time. Plan on doing some Christmas shopping. You'll find a large variety of goodies. And be sure to pick up some noodles! Eat some there and pick up a bag to cook at home. Oh, and be sure to get a package of the seasoning they have to put in them. YUM! Have fun!

Oh I know, it's heartache when you want to go campin with some teardroppers and all the fun is like a 6+ hr drive away!!!

I know there are some good lakes/spots in western Oklahoma , don't know what's in the TX panhandle. Maybe next spring or summer we need to try Foss Lake, Ft Cobb, or the Wichita Refuge there by Lawton....

I"m kind of still deciding whether to camp this weekend or just drive down to the Amish thing for the day.

Well, there's a chance of rain all week, not much but fall is here in Oklahoma.....

I'm thinking I shouldn't camp this weekend but we'll see. Money, money, money.... I just found out last night that my son will be marching with the Natl Guard band in the parade at the Watonga Cheese Festival in mid October... OMG .. that reminds me - gas money to go to Crawford S.P. campout .... LCG is right around the corner !!!!

Oh My !!!!!

I know Julie the gas prices will hurt everyone's travel pans this year. McGee Creek sounds great and a larger car show is scheduled soon I'm looking at and maybe a campout maybe.
