October Camping anyone

Postby ssrjim » Tue Sep 09, 2008 7:38 pm

For those who don't know I'm a teacher and we have a fall break Oct. 4-12. Ok the 6th (my birthday)-10 are the weekdays. What I was wondering if anyone was interested in a informal gathering during this week. This is one of my favorite campgrounds and it not busy in October. Plus Oak Creek is really beautiful this time of year.

Question 1
Anyone up for an outing?

Question 2
Which weekend is better for those not on break. 4,5 or 11,12?

I'm trying to find out when they close for the season because it is near this date and that may determine the weekend.

This is too late in the month but Gail Leggett posted this on the Kenskill Karavan.

**********************************************
Spooktacular Campout in Southern Arizona October 23-26

For the fifth year, a fall vintage trailer rally will be held at
Catalina State Park in Tucson, Arizona. We have the large group area-
spectacular views- and an enormous shower/bathroom facility with
electric outlets. Those are, however, the only outlets in the camp.
This is dry camping at its best. Water faucetts are available in the
large cooking area and the bathroom building has a dishwashing set up.
We decorate our trailers, let kidlets trick or treat from trailer to
trailer, and enjoy campfires and hot mulled cider. Please join us-
decorate your trailer for Halloween, bring a pot luck dish for
Saturday, and vote for your People's Choice decorated trailer- Inside
and Outside categories. The campsite is $15 per night, pay the rangers
as you enter. There is a $5 registration fee to cover the reservation
and group costs. Please email Gail Leggett at [email protected] for
an application, directions, or any questions.
******************************************************

I have other plans or I would have made this one.
Dennis

The campground closes the 20th so either weekend works.
