Hi,

I'm sure it has been done but cannot think of anyone now off the cuff.

Here is a commercial example. Fairly easy. Roller (ball) bearings, and two pieces of rectangular tubing.

I was thinking of doing the same thing.....having the whole galley slide out the back to the edge of the bumper as one unit. It would only need to slide 10 - 12 inches but it would bring the face of the cabinets and counter top right out to the back rather than having to lean over the bumper and banging a knee or shin.

My TD is going to be lifted pretty high for off-road use with the floor sitting 28 inches off the ground. Reaching into the top cabinet while on more than likely unlevel ground would be much easier if I didn't have to lean over the bumper that additional 10 -12 inches. Plus it would give me that much more room in the sleep quarters to stretch out.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to use the slide-out hardware from a popup and have my galley slide out the side so it will be in the screen room and right outside the door. I hope it works out anyway :worship:

Did one years ago.

Found out that with a Profile change it wasn't necessary.

Len that is exactly what I am looking to do.

What are some of the difficulties you ran into?
What type of slide system did you use?
Is there anything you would have done differently?

Its an Explorer II, Built locally by Jurgens CI. Sells for the equivalent of about $22 000 though... :shock:
