Yet another newbie from Texas!!!

Howdy Ya!! I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks now and finally decided to join the gang. :D I've caught the fever and have been spending way to much time in front of the computer reading and soaking it all up...What a great site and a very supportive group of folks!!

I've started plans for a 5 x 10 Modernaire that I'm going to build w/ my Dad over the winter. Right now it's still in the planning stages but I'm getting my garage cleaned out for what I hope to be an October start.

I've already caught on that this group will request (uh, demand!) pictures, so I'll provide those when the event kicks off.

In the mean time, I'll take comfort knowing that I've got lots of support for the many questions I've got and those I don't know yet to ask.

Thanks again for a great site and an enthusiastic crowd. Looking forward to sharing my build w/ you.

Wayne,
Welcome to the forum. We caught the bug last summer and are finishing up our Tear. We had alot of fun planning and building her. Did it with my brother In law and the wife. Hey its great that you are building with your Dad. Enjoy that.
Good luck on your build. The people are great here and youll get the answers to all your questions.
Have fun,
Bill :applause:
Hope to see you on the road.

WE turned ours into a family project as well. Check out my build thread for Working Stiff and Princess Helper details.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

Welcome to the forum,

Great choice of profile. The Cub, Modernistic, Modernaire is my favorite. Seems mine is patterned similar to Andrews "New Cub" , with the rear being more like the "Grumman II" in the design library at the top. (I wish I would have found this forum before I had spent so much time drawing a profile from old photos)
Glad to have more people from this area. We're just up the road from you, in New Braunfels. Let me know if you need any help with local material sources.
Keep us posted with your progress. Look forward to the pics!!

Have fun!
David

Man am I glad I found this forum before I got to far into it also, I'm not sure I'd be as far along on my design as I am if it wasn't for this forum!! :)

Thanks, I'm glad to know there's some support so close to me. I'm sure I'll be coming to you with comments/opinions!

You are right about the pictures. They keep the bubble oil level and we can't all go round off bubble. 8)

Enjoy!
