I've got it bad!!!

Postby Topbilling » Tue Sep 16, 2008 1:00 pm

Hi all,

While researching for a new camp kitchen design, I came across this forum and have to admit. You have infected me!! I have the teardrop build bug bad. Idea after idea come to me at all hours day and night. I have filled a one inch 3 ring binder so far. Glad to see a fine gathering of ingenious and gracious folk in one place.

OklahomaJewel,
You are so right. When we finished I was about to bust. Felt like a little kid at Christmas.

Oh Oh, step one......gather info and file it. Once you reach that level, you're hooked. Now for step two...... decide on length, width and layout. Step three, obtain a suitable trailer and get started on your actual build. We are here to help, just ask and see what happens. Take pics, post 'em and catch a gathering as soon as you can. In a short time, you will be welcomming newbies to the board too........Oh yes, welcome to the board.

WELCOME! Know the feelin' well. I wanted to build one years ago, put it off for 2 years, then one day I said " I feel like building a tear" 3 months later, I'm camping in it. Now I can't stop thinking on what to do with it next. Good luck on the build, and keep us posted. 8)

Welcome aboard Topbilling....If you have decided on building your own, and we all hope you do, it's an incredibly rewarding project. Think about how you camp, what is important to you and what you can do without. And also think about how many people will come up to you when it's all said and done and say..."you built this?" cuz they will! People giving you thumbs up when you go on a trip and at a gas station makes it worth while.

You will find just about all the answers to your needs here, but it's important to build what you want. If it takes cardboard mockups, chalk lines on the garage floor, models etc...just do it. Most importantly, use your imagination. There are no hard and fast rules. Hope to see you down the road! Beware....it can be addicting. I've built 4.... got 1 on paper, sort of. Doug

All the homework will pay off as you will end up with a tear that is designed to your lifestyle instead of having to change your camping ways to match your tear. The expert help available on this site is mind boggling. How many places will the experts give so much for just the satisfaction of helping others reach their dream? Posting pictures will assist when getting questions answers to get more in depth feedback. Hope you are able to get started soon and you enjoy your build.
