First post from Lurker(planning a build)

Postby MSohlberg » Wed Sep 17, 2008 2:06 am

Greetings from the surface of the sun!
I have spent a significant amount of time here reading and learning over the past couple of weeks. I am currently working on my plan of Attack. Two small issues will hold up my build though.

1) I am currently in Iraq, once I get home will be headed to Colorado for my last year or so in the Army before I retire.

2) I currently have no tow vehicle, my wife sold my vehicle shortly after I got here, so I have to get a new/used vehicle before I begin my build.

However, I have started working on my design with Sketchup. Classic Benroy with some light mods. This site has provided me with an enormous amount of information, and I will be posting in the future!

Thank you for your support! Without public support we would not be able to do what it is we do!

I have spent insane amounts of time living in the "dirt" gonna have to change that, and right before I retire. Time for some quality outdoor living.

I have some interesting ideas about how to I plan on building the Slowtel 2!

Colorado will be a sensational place to start out with a teardrop and designing certainly is a nice way to fill the void before you can begin the build.

I bought one and teardrops are now my favorite doodle.

Thanks to you and your comrades for your service for America and freedom-loving people everywhere.

 :applause:

Hiker Chick!

Postby MSohlberg » Wed Sep 17, 2008 11:42 am

I like your little guy, I followed your purchase and build on the Element Forum. I was interested in Little Guy a while back BUT[b] the cost is huge for an under paid Govt Employee.

The Govt only gives bonus money to the young kids nowadays. I have been stationed in Colorado several times and love it there. My wife Michelle was born there.

I have learned bunches here! I spent some time looking for and found the "worlds smallest" air conditioner. The manufacturer will sell to individuals, but the cost is just over 1k.

Normally I come up with complex and often times expensive solutions to simple problems. My build should be interesting.

Compared to Iraq, most of America will feel naturally air conditioned!

A friend of mine's brother (Marine) has done three tours in Iraq. Sounds brutal. I sent him a care package of hydration tablets (NUUN and Camelbak).

Welcome to the board, M. Thank you for what you do for me and mine. Once you are back in the states, you just gotta get yourself a trailer, either build or buy. Colorado is a beautiful State, and I explored it far and wide around Ft Carson, about 50 years ago.

I know there seems to be a lack of needed supplies over there, especially if you are doing your thing out in the sand, miles from any town. My daughter regularly logs onto a site called: Anysoldier.com

There she is given instructions on how to gather up personal soldier supplies and send them to the correct distribution center. She loves reading the responses from you guys and gets a bit of an insite of how life is, where much needed necessities are rare. I wonder if you have heard of, or recieved any stuff from those of us over here that want to help out.

And to all of my fellow teardrop and tiny trailer friends, check out that site and see what we all can do to support our guys and gals that are keeping up free. Thanks again for your service, and be well and hurry home.

Thankx Everyone for all of the support! As far as I go, I am set up pretty good. I live on a large camp and if I do not have something, I can get it pretty easily.

If anyone is interested, I wrote some newsletters while I was deployed in 2005. They can be found at the following website:

Just some personal thoughts, I have not done any this time due to a lack of motivation or something like that.[/url]

Image to the best playground on the net. My nephews went to Irag and about froze when they went home, one to Germany and one to Georgia.

We will be here when you get to making sawdust so get that plan going. Sorry about the lack of pay. We have been shamed again by our leader. Maybe some day!

Bless you all!
