about the mass log on

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I'm going to rip some poplar for my stringers (maybe). I already had pine ones up but I was on the fence about them (they seem flimsy). A post about this exact thing pushed me to replace them. I still haven't decided if I'm gonna rip the wood I have for stringers or use them for drawer fronts. I'll leave my browser open in case there are a few stragglers.

Whew... Much better,
It looks like 42 is the number to beat.
I say if someone wants to do this again sometime, make sure that Mike figures out how to get the mass emailing feature working...unless you want to parade around in a billboard for a week.

No... and I missed it too.
I was working down at the theater job until 9:00PM last night.
I was installing some glue chipped glass from a ladder when the earthquake hit.
I thought I was getting light headed at first, because I felt like I was going to fall all of the sudden for some reason... Then I realized that it was an earthquake.
The news report said it was a 7.0... felt more like a 3.5 or 4.0 to me, except it had a pretty good duration of about 15 seconds or so.

I was on my way down to Sears to get an extension cord to wire my 110 volt marine receptacle into the trailer when the quake hit. I'm really kinda bummed though as I never felt a thing, and had no clue we had a quake until arriving back home to see it on tv, btw they've upgraded it to a 7.2

Kevin,
I'll tell ya... I sure don't understand how they come up with the magnitudes...
Remember that little 5.0 quake we had about 12 -13 years ago the morning after Christmas morning? That one tossed me right out of bed... I woke up in mid air.
7.2 eh? Well it was a real slow rolling type, I doubt anyone driving a car felt it...

dean i saw you had a tsunami warning after the earthquake. When i lived in king salmon, i think it was 1964-65ish there was a tsunami warning (Then known as tidal waves) and my family was out of town somewhere. Our neighbors lived in a trailer, they hitched up their trailer, snagged our dog, and drove up humboldt hill to wait it out.

thankfully, nothing happened in eureka, but I guess crescent city and trinidad got hit pretty bad. i think that was the same year, anyway.
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

Sue,
Yeap... that was the same one, my dad worked for the corps of engineers at the time. He took me up to Crescent City and showed me the damage. That was also the year that our area was hit buy the flood, remember that?
I remember that too, being called tidal waves...
