Wiring Question

Well Here You go again
I was wondering If anybody out there knows about how a wiring harness on a 94' Chevy pickup is setup?...My owners manual states that I do have a wiring harness with an in-line 30 amp fused battery feed wire and no connector....
How will I need to connect to the wiring harness for trailer safety towing lights?
Will I need to cut into the exisiting wire?
Is there a simple way to break into the exisiting wire?
Is there a plug adapter that make a connection between an existing plug connection?

If all you need is a 4-pin flat trailer light wire, see below. If you're looking to tap into the truck's auxillary power circuit to power your trailer, I'll have to do some more digging.

Nope.

Yup.

Is there a plug adapter that make a connection between an existing plug connection?

Yes. All you need is a T-Connector. It plugs inline with an existing plug under the back of your truck.
According to the manufacturers website, the one you need is made by Hoppy, Part # 41125.


The Hoppy brand is carried by most every auto store. It runs about $15-20. There may be other brands available, but I've always used these, and never had any problems with them.

If you Chev has a 30 amp "power feed" to rear for accessories in trailer or battery charging, you will probable need the 7 pin (RV) styled connector to access the power lead AND have proper tow lighting.....

Yes they have same styled "loom" plug in features as 4 wire lighting plug...

A little more research many be needed to see what your wiring requirements are...

Yes sir got it taken care of....Bought a Hoppy "T" plug that fits right in.

Some day you may want to step up to a 7 pin RV plug and use the 30 amp hot line to charge your TD battery. It's great to have on multi-day trips. Then you never worry about a dead battery.
