I'm Hooked

Postby suckerpunched » Sun Sep 21, 2008 11:40 pm

I've been wanting to upgrade from tent camping for awhile(getting a few years on me) and at this time being limited to a car or motorcycle as a tow vehicle started looking at tear drops. I love the old school look and will start building soon. Looking forward to any help and ideas I can get from you all..............TC

 Hi Suckerpunched!! Love the name. Finding this forum will do that to you. You wont stop obsessing about Teardrops until you build one, so you may as well get busy.

Welcome to the Forum, make sure you take lots of pictures and keep us posted on your build.

Welcome, TC. Now where are you located? Perhaps we can steer you to some local teadroppers that can give you a few pointers about your build. Looking at a real one, sure can help solidify your ideas. Good luck on your efforts, take pics and ask questions.

The many pictures that are posted by the numerous talented builders on this forum will provide the motivation and inspiration to build a quality tear. The time you spend planning will payoff with your building a tear that suits your personal camping preferences and needs. Hope your build goes well and you enjoy building your tear!!!

Welcome to the forum and the FUN ...... where about are you in the country (or the world) ... we're WORLD famous! haha

Hope you can attend a campout /gathering somewhere near to you soon! There is nothing better than to see one in person but really look at it... lift the hatch , lay inside, crawl underneath ....

then start camping with the fine teardrop folks and you'll REALLY be hooked!

Julie

Suckerpunched.
Welcome to the forum. What state are you from, the reason I ask there is a gathering at Parvin State Park October 10-11-12 in New Jersey you can see some homebuilts up close. Any how take your time planning your Teardrop. We spent months planning and making so many sketches and now shes 99.9% finished and the wife is still changing things. But I think we enjoyed the planning as much as the building.
Good Luck on your future build,
Bill :applause:
Hope to see you on the road.

Had to take a break from the planning process due to other commitments but have been reading the forum and taking advantage of all the experience here. Winter is coming on soon which will keep me off the bike and give me the time to start the planning and building. I need to set up room in the garage to at least do the woodwork and it's gonna be tight, but I look forward to a winter project. I will probably be asking alot of dumb questions so bear with........
Thanks............TC
Oh, and the name "suckerpunched".....well,,,,,,,,that's another story,,,,best told around a campfire with cocktails and Willie Nelson singing "You were always on my mind"............ :)
