New lurker from Southern VA..

Postby kilroy-is-here » Fri Sep 26, 2008 11:03 am

Just retired down here and figured I lurk around a bit.... Had a fellow visit us a year or two ago and he had a tear drop trailer. Cute..

Now that we have the time and room to build one and travel a bit, I'll probably be asking a question or two as time passes.

Kilroy,
Welcome. Youve come to the right place if your looking for answers to any teardrop build question you may have, and of course the people are awesome on here. Take your time planning your Teardrop cause its as much fun as building it. Chit chat with the folks on here cause they have lots of great ideas on how to save time and sometimes money while your building.
Enjoy your build,
Marijo :applause:
Hope to see you on the road.

Thank you for the nice notes.... here are a couple of pictures where I live. Near Martinsville.... and the Blue Ridge. Calf is less than 24 hours old.

After looking around this site, I have a lot of learning to do.

 Awesome!! Beautiful!! You are so lucky to live there. The Blue Ridge is one of the best places in the US to camp. I'm very jealous. :envious:

Welcome to the forum!

If you haven't had a chance yet the Hall of Fame in the top left hand corner is a great source of inspiration and design ideas. You can also follow along the building of some spectacular teardrops in the private albums of forum members. Once you start your build and post a question it really helps if you can post pictures to allow these craftsmen to give you more detailed feedback specific to your build. Hope you are able to get started on your build soon and enjoy your build.

Just retired? You better get a hobby going fairly quickly. Some retirees can't find enough to do after they have quit their jobs. Some have their wives tell them to quit following her around. Then there are the guys that can't stand it more than a month and go to Walmart and ask for a job as a greeter. Hey, nothing wrong with that, I might have done the same thing myself, if I hadn't found a worthy project............a teardrop trailer.

So, I suggest you get started right away, get that trailer frame. decide on the shape and material and make the sweet wife happy, since you are no longer underfoot. "Honey, will you come in here and dry the dishes"?............No, I'm working on my teardrop trailer.
