When I stopped at his house he has a little office in his house and he showed all of his Awards and Trophies that he has won.. just a beautiful collection of photos, awards and so on there.
The story he told about it and how he found it was like this:
A gentleman that was working for him owned this boat. On a fall day they lifted the boat out for dry dock for the winter. While lifting with a huge crane the lifter arm malfunctioned and dropped the entire boat with the arm on the crane smashing it right down the midsection.
The restoration had not even started then but were in the plans. Well the previous owners plans went down the drain and of course he lost interest in it all together.
He sold it to our neighbor since he had interest in it for years. However during previous offers to him he in noway wanted to sell.
The accident that occured made him change his mind. Our neighbor is an architect and building engineer now retired..
He jokingly said that he could give it a go and try rebuild all. Thats when the story on this boat began. and Now after all these years this shows the craftsmanship our neighbor has. Which certainly Im jealous of ..
This same man is now helping me on a few things on our tear. And of course I cant say no ..
Its even nicer in real life than what it is in the photos. Didnt get a chance to go for a cruise this summer however I did visit it at the dock.
Just awesome. The feeling of beeing inside is an experience for sure. The old time style and the beautifully done mahogany inside and out.
