I love camping and have done it one way or another since I was a kid, even in a teardrop. Tenting or boating was the norm though. About 10 years ago, we got a 24' RV, but we're back to tenting for now. RVing just isn't camping.
One of my sons, now 18, found a little trailer in the woods near here and brought it home one day. The property owner said he could have it, so it housed his bicycle-building parts for quite some time. When he got his driver’s license, we decided to sell it, but I changed our minds. A new door and a decent floor were added, along with some gray primer. We actually found the registration for it during the quick re-model! Come to find out, it's a 1963 U-Haul trailer (there's still U-Haul orange in the wheel-wells). Now it totes all the camping gear behind our pickup, including an EZ-up that was given to us, sleeping bags and tents, propane stove, a round water cooler, folding table, dutch oven and assorted other "necessaries" for camping.
So, I guess we really do own a tiny trailer. It's TINY, too! Outside it's only 8'X5' including the tongue and fenders. Inside it's 54"L X 41"W X 42"H. It’s certainly not big enough for our marine cooler or the grub box, which go in the back of the pickup with the bikes and fire wood.
One day, I hope to have a cargo conversion trailer. We'll see when that "one day" comes.
Anyway, we don't get out as much as I'd like to because the kids are grown, but that doesn't keep the urge away! We finally have some wonderful weather coming up, so everything is being tuned up and organized. Can't wait!
MUCH thanks to Mike-N-Chell for having this forum. Good ideas and good people. It's a pleasure!
Here's some pics of the TT (sorry, I'm a terrible photographer):
