I have ordered (but not yet received) 4' x 10' x .040 "polished" aluminum sheeting from a local sign shop. It runs about $157 per sheet.

I just checked on the SAF website. A 4' x 10' x .040 clear anodized sheet is $122 plus shipping. I've heard that they will ship for free once you reach a certain weight.

100# or more from SAF gets free shipping. I got mine a couple weeks ago right to my door from Atlanta. As long as they can get to your house, they seem fine with it.

Side note: every corner of the anodized stuff has a mark on it where it's clipped and put in to be anodized so take into account if you need the WHOLE sheet. Each corner is about 1" x 1" for an idea.

I got 2 48x144 and 2 60x144 for $7xx, clear anodized. If you have to unload it yourself which I did, get some help. The pallet they put it on weighs a whole lot more than the aluminum :?

I don't know about polished aluminum but I have found a local place that has white aluminum for $83 in 4x10 and $96 in 5x10.

I used mill finish aluminum on my teardrop, it was $64 a 4X10 sheet. Only problem I see with mill finish, it scratches easily and shows finger prints too.

I got an offcut from a semi trailer manufacturer. They use it on the roofs of the trailers. The sheet is 8 foot 4" x 16 foot , for £30 (about 60 bucks)

I know it's bigger than you want, but you could get a shorter piece. I got a 103" by 12' at the trailer supply place. It was $180.00 or so. It is material designed for the roofs of campers. it is .032" thick.

Tell us more Stevie, :o

Is it coated, painted , or raw so to speak?

Did you have to pay for Delivery, or could you pick it up ?

Who did you get it from ?

I've seen Aalco do it by the metre of a 5 metre roll, just not sure you can pick the stuff up.

Cheers

I got it from the delivery driver from a company called Montracon Trailers , here in donny. It comes as bare ally , though i think it hase a clear coating on it as it has not started corroding, and it has been outside for a while. Im just waiting to see the bloke again as i need some for my build, the last lot was for Northern Munkies build
I would say, if you contacted any trailer manufacturer they would have it. Im just lucky working in the commercial vehicle trade and finding out about it

Check Craigslist for deals. Sounds crazy I know but a board member here forwarded an ad for some .40 black aluminum 4x8's and I drove three hours up to Texarkana to get some for $40 a sheet! Still had the protective plastic on it so you never know, bought enough for two teardrops, (mine and a friends) would have bought it all if I could.

haha I did make it a fun journey, found a town, Miller's Cove (my last name) on the way too... I was in my non-descript hopefully police avoiding 1986 Jimmy. You just can't fit a 4x8 in anything but a truck these days, but this little Jimmy has done real good for me! Here's it taking home my 4x10 (not 4x8) plywood profile sheets! Sorry none of the aluminum.
