Ah, yes specs. It is what we call a 10'. That is not counting the front storage. That would make it 2' longer than the rest of our trailers. We always said that most people never completely utilize a 10' and if we built one it would have to add alot of funtionality. Hence the multipurpose front end.
The weight on that bad boy in the pictures is 1348lb. That is with air conditioning and TV and all. A comparably optioned 550 Ultra would be just under 1100lb.
The couch sets up into two positions. In the "bench" mode it is only about 5-6" above the mattress so you would have to sit with your legs straight out. That is more for travelling than resting. It allows access to the front storage. Then when you want to set up for resting you relocate it into the "sofa" mode. In this mode the front edge moves up and away. There is a hinged backrest that folds up against the bulkhead and the other cushion velcros in place. This places you in a recliner type of position. This allows you to sit in a much more comfortable bent leg position without having to drop your legs through the floor. A little hard to explain until your plant your butt in one.
The porta potty version? Well we did actually discuss it with a earlier design concept. This shape really wouldn't allow it to work though. But, we are not worried because we have a solution coming soon for all our trailers. Another top secret project very near to release here. The best part is it will work with alot of everyone elses trailers too. Stay tuned.
As for the credit Dean. It sort of was a group effort. Joe originally started us working on a 2+2 design with constant pestering. We designed up several versions. Craig came in one day with a cad file labeled Bizarre. We all shook our head and said it was crazy. The problem is the more we looked at it the more it made sense. And that is what evolved into the Raindrop. So, I guess Craig is the one to blame. He really is the brains of the bunch around here.
