I race soap box derby, with my daughter and I am in need of building a toy hauler to tow behind my ford focus
one of these of will exactly fit the bill
I am in the detroit area
from what I can tell the site admin is also
I would really like to look at some of these up close before building one

Welcome to the forum!

You will find a tutorial on posting pictures in the link above Help with photos. I'm sure you will also find a tear or two in your area to view in person - most of these folks are very willing to show their teardrops. You should have no trouble towing a lightweight tear with your Focus. If you haven't had a chance yet you might want to look in the Hall of Fame above and in the personal albums of some of the forum members for ideas and motivation.

to the playground DD. You first load your pictures in your personal album. See in the menu above. http://tnttt.com/album.php

They need to be JPG and about 600px wide. You can go 800 but then they are big.

Then you click on the thumbnail in the album and copy the url address. Come to the post and click on Img, paste and close tags.

The other way to do it is load them in an online image hosting place like photobucket.

ok, wow so many designs ! to choose !
but i think i found the (one) to copy

mike s designed it for alfred as a 5 x10
I plan to build it as a 4 x 10 x 4 '6'
which will allow my daughter and I to have seperate beds when
we go racing in the weekends ! and get great mpg with my focus wagon!

and it will allow me to transport her car in the top (bunk)
I will just put the mattress on the lower while traveling

the galley in the rear will become a perfect work bench
with the lower area as storage for wheels and spare parts

it will be a big switch from my other camper
a prowler 31 g bunk house that I tow with my e 350 clubwagon v 10

which is easier to tow?

dd276, the shape of your new teardrop should be on no concern. Unless you are planning on hooking your new trailer to the top of a space rocket, the shape of the front end shouldn't matter much. Your hauler probably won't be breaking the sound barrier, so your little teardrop, following along in the slipstream, will pull just fine, slanted front, rounded front, pointed front or any of the in between.

Utility trailers, which are dead flat in front, seem to pull allright, following along behind the hauler with ease, and I doubt that there is much resistance at all. I say, build what ever profile suits your fancy, you'll love it, no matter what you decide on. Remember, take and post pics.

now to sell the mongomery wards trailer i bought first
its 4'x7' with opening doors on the side my first thought was to use this , then I discovered this site.
