Hiya folks, im new to this site but been active for about a month, ive been into teardrops for a few years having built one several years ago for weekend carshows, alas i have no pictures but am presently building a teardrop very similar that of 1948 Rob's cabin car.
im loading up picture this time as i progress with the build.

Welcome to the forum, Adi. Just a hello from one who isn't from the UK. It's great that teardropping is at last catching on over on the other side of the pond. Looks like those of us over here will soon be driving smaller, more economical cars in the near future, like you folks have been doing for years. You have a great idea of what your tear will look like and I do hope that you can get together with other Brits and create.....well who knows, maybe a Universal, International UK Teardrop Gathering. Good luck on your build, and keep those pics coming.

What did the chassis come from? I've never seen coil springs like that on a trailer.

I'm fairly sure it's an older style caravan chassis Andrew.

I very nearly used one for my first build, but decided it would be too wide, and would be too much work reducing the width.

Welcome to the Forum from another UK builder.

Well that's a bit presumptious actually - I'm only at the scribbling stage!Pity I'm up North (where the M1 is cobbled) - I'd love to see your handiwork first hand! That double wall idea in the hatch is INSPIRED - I've been thinkjing of something similar, and it's great to see someone trying it!

Will you skin the roof of your "bin" and the main roof all in one piece, so you can have a continuous corner moulding right round the perimeter? I think that gives a big advantage, so you can then have your hatch "lid" just wider than the inner wall, and overlapping to create a seal.

Really nice job... look forward to seeing it develop.
