First trailer

Hows it goin? Clint here from new braunfels texas im 24 yrs old. I am planing on buying a 4x8 trailer from tractor supply and buildin my first trailer. Does anybody know where to get good plans for a more square type trailer. I dont really want to mess with curving wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'll be damned!! somebody else from New Braunfels finally found this place!!! I live in N.B. also.

Curves aren't really any harder than boxes or angles if you've lay out a good pattern and use a router to cut the profile. Let me know if you want to see what I'm talking about (You won't even have to leave town!).

Any ways, If you want to see a Tear that is nearly complete or need any help with material sources, let me know.

Welcome to the madness, sounds like you have been infected with a serious disease - Teardropitis. Currently there is no cure for this dreaded disease just continuing treatment to relieve the symptoms. Symptoms include visions of your next build or making changes to your current build or trailer. Walking into stores and looking at an item and figuring a way to use it in your teardrop.

Check out the design library for ideas and if search the web for Desert Dawg. Joanne built the desert dawg and chronicled her build.

A word of warning, there is another serious disease that has its evil clutches to members of this forum....DOitis. The symptoms include the sudden urge to buy anything related to Dutch oven cooking or cast iron. Watching cooking shows and thinking I can make that in my DO. Cooking in your DO when it is below freezing and thinking that nothing is wrong with cooking outside. If you have any of these symptoms and do not want this serious disease you must use all of your willpower to resist these symptoms because the only known cure is not to get the disease

I have both and I wonder why my wife looks at me funny.

Welcome to the insanity.....er.. um... forum.

I see Sherrie and Starleen beat me here as I was gonna recommend that you check out their builds. But really curves are not that big of problem if you take your time and work slow. You might check out the Hall of Fame pictures in the upper left of each page to see what others have done.

Anyway, glad to have you here and I hope you jump in and have fun.
