Marck,

That looks good, does yours use some type of slide mechanism? And the matress/futon folds up?

Actually the slide out is a small bed for my 2 smallest daughter's to share, it's about 3.5' wide and 5' long

I made a sort of slide out roller system out of an old pair of roller skates. you have to hold up on it a little when you slide it out. but it's all good. I put the legs on it just to be safe.

ok I fixed the link to my www, so you can see the construction pics. Yeppers it's a 65 scotty and the dropped floor is still in there.

Here's the scotty when I got it after it went through Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

The guy who retreived it from the River took the aluminium for scrap and I eneded up with it as you see it lol

Here's the frame after I cleaned it up.

and with the floor on it:

Looks good, nice pix, but those popups and redirects are really annoying! How has the repaired spring held up? I'll be using a shorter Scotty frame, and replacing the axle with a heavier model (with brakes).

Yeah the popups etc are annoying.. I really should find a new freebie hosting site for the site.

The axle has held up so far but this spring when i do some other work on it I will be replacing the whole axle with a heavier leaf spring set up.

Have made a change to the profile: it's a bit taller, fuller in the rear, and leans out in the front, ala Shasta (though the nice roof curve is missing...). See the photo of Len's Shasta-clone to compare. The rear has a tailgate to access the area under the galley. I looked at other ways for the bed to slide, but it needs to cantilever from the middle when both out (open) and in (closed), so I stuck with the rollers in channels. And yes, it can be opened while hitched to the tow vehicle.

Found pics of the A'van Ray slideout, which is very similar to my plan, but theirs has no floor in the slideout; the floor and mattress fold down after the end is pulled out.
