Hello from Idaho Falls, Idaho

Postby jrd5 » Sun Nov 02, 2008 6:23 pm

Hi every one,

i must say, this is quite a site, lots of information, and every one seems to be friendly.

Tent trailors are so exspensive, which lead me to think why not build one.

i also have decided, why not go a little bigger, since i really enjoy the out doors. :D

so i have decided to build a suare model that 6, by 10. about 6 feet tall.
should be enough room for a table and seats that fold down into a bed, a indoor galley, and a closet.
id like a small potty, but really dont like the idea to have to clean it out after a weekend of fun.
the reason i want every thing in side is it gets quite windy, and cold here in idaho, and it tends to rain as well.
enough about me. tx for all the great information. :D

Welcome to the forum. Idaho Falls was my favorite duty station when I was stationed there back in the mid 80's! It sounds like you have a plan for what kind of trailer you want! If you put wheels that will lower it to the ground and put some removable holes in the bottom, it could double as an Ice Fishing House!

If you haven't done so already you ought to click the design library link up at the top. An enlish gentleman has designed a number of trailers and posted the designs on his website. A couple of them are at least similar to what you described.

Hi welcome aboard. That is a big first build. Definitly check out the design library. Mine is six wide and that is about as far as I would like to go because some af the trails that I go are not the friendly to bigger. (It's also a store bought). I look forward in seeing what you do.

Hello and welcome. I have a brother in law that lives in Nampa, works in Boise. Transplanted from Pa. about 12 years ago. Absolutely loves it out there. Good luck on your builds!

Welcome jrd5

I am over here in Rupert ID. Built a TD in 2007 ( still finishing it up ). I see you might be interested in model planes. A good friend of mine now in Blackfoot and his father inlaw in Shelley do some flying. I went through IF first of Sep. Don't know when I will make it up that way again.
