Hello from Southern Florida

Postby Aric » Sun Nov 02, 2008 11:15 pm

Hi All,

I have evolved from lurker to serious after a few years of looking at getting back into camping. I fell in love with the TD a number of years back and after a while fell in love with the idea to build my own.

Because I come from a line of woodworkers and campers so I am going with a Woody, that I hope to get started on early in the new year. I will post pics and ask questions as I progress along, but have found lots of useful info during my lurking times.

 I figure if my Grandfather could build his own house I can build a little TD.

Hi Aric, welcome to the board. Now if you are going to build a woody, you are about to start a project that will be enjoyable for many years. You might want to give some thought to how waterproof it will have to be, since, if I remember correctly, there are a few rainy days in Florida.
Good luck on your build, take pics and post em, ask questions and you'll get answers.
Roly

Thanks all for the welcome .

I know I will have questions and I will either find the answer or be able to ask. I will also post pictures of my progress.

Roly - yes it does get wet here and a boating friend (has wooden boat) has filled my ears with plenty of suggestions.

Right on, Aric, just sand and revarnish every year and keep-er inside out of the weather and you should have no problems. Looking forward to your pics and questions.
