It is year end for us and time is not with me. But I have it noodled out - since I be an engineer that is a technical term

Really the only issue is those dam critters - maybe a elctrical charge of some sort may work to deter those pesky beasts................

I plan to start framing my hatch this weekend. I think the 3/8 inch notch is supposed to accomodate the weatherstrip.

Weatherstrip and trim. Now that its built and I can look at it, I'd make it a 1/4" instead. Its easier to take a little more off instead of wanting to put a little on.

Great hint. The 3/8 did look a little to large - a 1/4 should work just fine. Need to adjust the template.

Thanks, 3/8'" sounded big but 1/4" sounds better. the notch makes sense now.
