It's sometime in June. The joke used to be it was 9 months before Mother's day, but that doesn't really work out by the calendar.

Father's day is a non-event in the usa. The most important days are mother's day, valentine's day, etc.... fathers play second fiddle, as usual.

But, if we miss the cards and flowers, we also get to miss other things that are important to us. But, that fads with age.

Happy Fathers Day to you Heikki  :applause: .
Fathers Day in the US is kinda grouped in with graduations and doesn't get the attention like Mothers Day. To me Fathers Day is every time a father sees his child at any age succeeded in his or her aspirations. My busy son ( I rasied by myself) stopped by for a long one on one visit yesterday, so that made my day. :D Danny

Good evening everyone one. Well almost morning so I,ll say Good Morning too since its after midnight.

It was indeed a special day. Here in Finland the fathers day is as big as mothers day. And more and more the roll of the fathers stepping in to do chores and work such as the mothers. Except of course giving birth. :)

Dont know if the motherly love will ever be replaced but gee we try our best. Even though in our family its "Mother" for the smallest or biggest of things.  Ohh well.

Here the fathers can take so called paternity leave to help out with the baby or babies and get paid to do so. Also the moms get their maternity leave until the child reaches the age of 3. Starting 3 months prior to birth.

Ok enough of that.  This morning our family came to wake me up for coffee, but not only that they had baked a whipped cream, strawberry & peach filled & candy topped cake. Boy is it yummy. ;)

I thank the good Lord for giving me these healthy and good behaving boys
and a beautiful wife to go with the package :) As was mentioned above
everyday its fathers day to see my family healthy and to see they are doing well. So what more can a man want.

Thank you to all of you for your replies and nice comments. It was a nice day for sure.
