Is the extra 1 ft worth the extra cost and how much of a price difference does it actually make.
All I can find is 4x8 so I will have to make my own 5 ft wide plywood for the floor, front, back, and top.

Depends on what you like to do with the elbows, knees, and toes. If you sleep in the middle of the bed like we do 4 wide might do it. Many do. If you are ever caught in the rain or can't get out for a day---snuggling is such fun. Just remember that a full bed is 54" not 46"!

Course the partner will more easily agree to #2 if you make #1 small.

...our first build was 4'wide...when the wife(aka the poor girl) and I first used it and we were laying nose to nose looking deeply into each others eyes, we both...at the same time...said longingly...FIVE FOOT WIDE...unless you and your mate are very practiced at "synchronized turning", I highly recommend going wider with two doors, which, by the way, is the number one and two items expressed on polls taken on this forum for "what would you do different next time".....

Five foot wide is great. Try putting your hands behind your head and have someone measure elbow to elbow & times that by two and you'll find a 48" outside measuring teardrop too confining. Don't forget the galley is a foot wider too. It may be somewhat more expensive but cheaper than making a second one.

Love the 5 feet wide!!!!! Perfect fit for a queen mattress(60" x 80")!!!!!

I lucked out and my mechanic had a 5 x 8 custom built motorcyclye trailer that he was selling. It was a great find to start my project.

For me.....it's worth the extra $$ just go 4'6" wide! Yes I know...I'm a dope for not going the full 5'....just a size I like. Doug
