Nanny's Niche'...

Postby Dean in Eureka, CA » Sat Nov 22, 2008 10:48 pm

It's become a real hassle lately to keep Joanie's forum free of spambots.
We usually average between 4-6 per day, but lately that number has soared as high as over 30 on some days...
Because of this, I turned the forum off for the time being, since we're going into a non IRG year.
The Niche' is still there and when time warrants, I'll be adding some additional tools for making house cleaning easier.

Thanks for the heads-up. Every now and then I have been checking it.

What a bummer those bots are

Dean,

I was having the same problem on camp-cook.com as you remember. Mike pointed me towards a simple mod that asks a non-standard question on the new member signin sheet. I've not had a spambot since.

Drop me a PM if you want to add something similar to the Niche.

"since we're going into a non IRG year"

Boy is it hard to read those words! After all of the fun this year its going to be a long wait until the next one in 2010.

So does this mean that you will have more time to work on a trailer for IRG 3? ;)

Sorry someone had to say it.

Dan, how could you even doubt that Deans trailer won't be ready by IRG3? what could possibly get in the way? I have total faith that Dean will have that trailer done shortly.

8) Hi Folks,

There will be plenty to do in this coming year.....I'm already starting to look for (and buy) raffle prizes. And, now that Dean knows how many 'vacation' days he gets/when he can take them....we will be posting some summer dates for 2009 to come down and camp in the Redwoods at Swimmer's Delight, just adjacent to IRG campsite, and possibly even put into Pamplin midweek if that site stays open...Thanks for your support as Nanny's Niche takes a late autumn break and nestles down for the winter. Stay posting  Joanie
