I have my frame. I designed it and had a pro weld it for me. I've been picking up supplies and will start on the floor and walls in the next few days.

It probably weighs about 250#. I want to go on some mild offroad. The main frame is 3/16x2x2, the "wings" are 1/8"x2x2, and the a frame tongue is 3/16x2x3. 15" wheels, 3500lb axle, brakes. It should hold up.

I picked up my FRP (Fiberflass Reinforced Plywood) It is 5/8" finished plywood that has Fiberglass covering on both sides. This is the material that they use for building cargo boxes on trucks (like the ryder trucks). Darn near bulletproof.One sheet that I bought was 8'x25', seamless. I started cutting it. Great stuff but itchy! Some shapes coming soon.

Is that FRP spendy? Also, what size is your frame?

The cost wasn't bad. It was surplus. My tear will be 5'w X 11'L X 4'9"h.

That's some nice stuff, wish I could come across a deal on some. I talked to the manufacturers a couple of years ago, when I was thinkig about making a motor home out of a Freightliner.

They can make about any size you want, and have several colors, as well as custom colors availible. Don't remember the cost, but it wasn't cheap.

I bought one sheet that was 8'x25' and 3 that are 8'x8' I'm using it for my floor peices, galley wall and the side walls.

I've been building my floor. I am using my FRP with lap joints and 2x2s with styrofoam insulation. Things are going well.

congrats on the start of the project.....................however gettin started is ez! It's the gettin finished thats tough! At least thats the way my projects seem to be!
