Question for those who wear glasses

If you take your glasses off and look straight ahead, do you still see the outline of your frames? Or is this just me?

Ive worn glasses for years and that so called "illusion" has never happened to me. If youve just gotten glasses to begin with it could be that your just not used to them yet. But who,s to say.

Oh great....here's another thing I can obsess about...looking for ghost frames without my glasses on!!!!!

Which drives me crazy sometimes and wishing I could wear contacts again.

Never had a "ghost" problem, but then again my vision is so bad I probably couldn't see it if it was there. I'd have to put my glasses back on to see it.

I've heard of "burn-in" on plasma and lcd screens, but retinas?

how big are the glasses frames? Are they the new tiny ones?

Mine are big and old and I get kidded about how out of fashion they are. But with bi-focals, big is good.... but the frames are out of my direct field of vision.

oh, my hearing aids were mfg'd in 1984, and they still work. I'd rather take care of things instead of dropping more dimes on things that are 'in fashion'. I've got enough other things I'd rather spend money on.

There are old black and white illusions like that, where you stare at them for 15 seconds, then look at a blank wall and you will see the item.

Personally, when I stare at a blank wall, all I see are spots floating around. I don't stare at blanks walls for that very reason.

Aaron, I don't wear my glasses much at home. When I wear them a long time now I see the frames and feel them. Even walked out of the house thinking I had them on once. It is a problem of small frames I think. I get used to that barrier and my brain puts it there or something.

Really annoying but so is bi-focals in the house.

I have something similar except I keep feeling the bluetooth earphone for my cellphone after I've removed it.

After wearing glasses full-time for the last 36 years, there is no trace of any frame when I take them off. In my humble opinion, if you can see a trace of them, you better get to an ophthalmologist right away!!
