Spamboree X "The Long Good-Bye"

Postby Damian Rutherford » Wed Nov 26, 2008 2:30 pm

Hi all, Damian here! Just wanted to let you all know that the plans for Spamboree X are underway and I should have the website updated with all the info by Christmas. As this will be the last Spamboree, I am making a commemorative CD/DVD set for all who attend. If any of you have pictures of past Spamborees you would like included in the dvd please email them to me. As I never seem to find enough time to take any myself, it would be greatly appreciated! I think Jpeg format should be fine. Also, if you have any pictures with Margaret O'hare, Precious, Jack Robertson, or John Mulrean in them, please send them along as I would like to include pictures of friends we've lost along the way. As long as we remember them they are never really gone. Thank you for all of your support for the last Nine years that we've spent doing this. I hope its brought at least a little bit of joy to you. Remember, ...Don't think of it as the end of the Spamboree, 'cause like the song says, (every new beginning comes from another new beginning's end!) :applause:
"If you're never boring you're never bored!"
Aloha! Damian

I will be there but I will bring my party clothes, not the burying clothes.

Damian, thanks for doing such a good job.

Damian,

As newcomers, it will be unfortunate that Spamboree will be no more, as we had a wonderful time the last two years. I uploaded pictures to the website, and like last year a CD for your collection will be on the way. Although Spamboree will be discontinued, it will be great to see you at other rallys, not having to to do all the work, but being able to sit and share a brewsky(or rrefreshement) with friends.

The Spamboree web site has been updated. The event is pretty much sold out but there is a waiting list forming.

What a send off. It was hotter than some parts of Hades but with a few misters and many bottles of cool libations, we did more than survive. We had a grand time.

Damian:
Thank you and all your family for 10 wonderful years. I showed up with my teardrop in Guajolme and no reservation in '03 or '04. I was told to find a spot and have a good time. I did and could not stop coming back.

Spamboree as officially Spamboree is gone but there will be other chances to carry a Dutch Oven filled with good eats to share with others.
Damian, you did very well and set a standard that will be hard to match.

There is a no-host, do your own thing, gathering at Woods Valley Sept 24, '10 weekend. No site splitting, each trailer in its own space, no group dinner or t-shirts etc. Spaces should be $33-37 a night. Many spaces are already reserved. Book it for the weekend but pay only first night ahead of time. cash or check.. WOODS VALLEY CAMPGROUND

Anyone know Maria Gunderson's email or phone number. The check we sent her said no such address. And I feel bad cause we told her we sent it a week before the Spamboree.
A month later would be cooler for a gathering at Woods Valley. But I know there are alot that have planned it out already.

We had a great time for the last hoorah! With frozen margaritas in the mix we got off to a good start. The only disappointment... I didn't get any of the my own dutch oven enchilada casserole that I brought to the pot luck. Next time, I am scooping out my own portion ahead of time, forget the presentation factor! ha.

Spamboree Photos! Click here These photos are more of trailers than people. Enjoy.

Cliuff:

Thanks for getting up early to do that. I caught a glimpse of you after you had moved up in the early morning light. ;)

That's alright Cliff, I had some. Well maybe a little more than some. When I went through, there was plenty. Maybe because I was the first one in line. Wonder how that happened. It sure was good. ;)

Cliff, the same thing happened to me at the last IRG. My enchilada casserole was gone when I finally got through the line.
I'm beginning to see a pattern here, :o
