Door latch question

Couldn't tell from the pic Mark but if your outer 'flange' doesn't have a good rubber type seal that'll be pulled tightly against the door, I'd put some kind of good sealant there during final installation. Otherwise you can get some water migration during heavy rain/road travel that can stain your inner door paneling (& the outer skin). Don't ask how I know this .

It came with rubber seals (you can see the black layer between the latch and the door). I WAS wondering if that would be enough or if I should add a little extra sealant just in case. But I don't want to make them too hard to get off if I had to some where down the line.

Very cool looking latches. I like that they have versions with deadbolts. Now that I've seen them I'm noticing them or similar ones in trucks. Would they work in a 1-1/8" thick door? Mine have 1/4" plywood outside, 3/4" wood framing, and 1/8" plywood inside. If needed I could add another 1/8th, or more, inside under the door handle.

They say they fit 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 thick doors. I guess you could add a 1/8" trim piece.
