It was $1.549/ gal. here today......but it seems stuck. Should be down below $1.50/gal., the wholesale level here is $0.90/gal. I think they are still sticking it to us.

Actually heard something on the radio saying that oil would go down to $20 a barrel and gas could go down to $1.00 a gal next year!!!

Don't think that I will hold my breath waiting on that, though!!

I paid 98 cents a gallon around 2000 in Tacoma, WA and the way the economy is heading it's only a matter of time. I now wait to fill up after 1/4 tank, may delay it for a week and save about a buck on my fill up. I don't do that too often since fuel pumps are very expensive to replace. Replaced two last year on a 93 & 99 vehicle. From past experience high gas prices are followed by an economic downturn. It happened in 1973-1974 and in the 1980's. I think their directly related. I saw that on the news. The guy kept running thru all the reasons why it would likely drop below a buck for about five minutes then at the end of his little spiel he said it isn't really likely to happen and if it would it will certainly be very short term!!
Sounded like a lot of BS to me.

Well if you take Congress and State governments out of the equation it might. Just more proof that oil prices and gas prices were artificially bid up, and on credit to boot. However, we will kindly bail them out and they will be back.... Then Congress can pay for the recovery with a $1.00 tax increase.

Paid 1.279 today at my local Caseys price is the same everywhere in town except 1 BP and it is always 5 to 10 cents higher there than anywhere else.
