Steve, you are full of Poo!! I have seen your handy work up close and know its TOP quality.

BTW, All morning I have had a Gypsy Caravan plans running through my head... I guess I am going to have to break down and draw something before it drives me crazy(er).

Question, how wide is the bed? Do you sleep front to back or side to side in it. I was thinking of 2 bunks on each side kind of deal.... Just some thoughts.

It is a regular size bed 54" X 76" across the back. I thought about two beds with a drop down table between. I got more galley space and a closet this way.

What I like about your design is that you don't have to ever take the bed apart to have a table.

I modeled something once upon a time with a table in it, but with the bed lengthwise, it ended up being quite long. I'll have to try that again with the bed rotated 90º. :D

only 11 days south of the border

Ho Ho Ho, I just realized it has been 10 days since I really did anything significant to the trailer. I do plan to have the inside finished by the end of the year so I can start on the outside trim. Cabinet doors this weekend (I hope). I did finish the seating on either side of the table, and need to find a good place to order some custom cushions. Any ideas?

Thanks for the nudge John and Mark. 8)

Steve: :)

This is my first time looking at your progress on your new lady.
Can see the same workmanship flows through this build.

The Cushion Source website
While looking into custom cushions I found the "Cushion Source" website
that if nothing else gives one the opportunity to decide the features to
ask for when having custom cushions made. The Cushion Source website
seems to help visually as well as explain construction and options.
They have a frequent question section as well.
Even if you don't use this company to make your cushions you will be able
to decide better what you want for features by reading there site.
They even are willing to use your fabrics.

I am sure your thoughtful finishing decisions will reflect your attention to detail.

A pleasure to look at your progress:

Auntie,

I know several local boat canvas people, I can't afford them

Steve,

Thanks for the links and sound advise. Looks like I need a friend in the upholstery business, but to have a friend ya gotta be one.

For chair seat cushions, look for some big pillows at retail stores. Build the benches around the pillows. Oops, read again and it looks like you built the benches already... More challenging.

I built a hallway bench around a couple couch type pillow 18" square.

I'm with Elumina, pillows(ornate ones) would be more in keeping with your Gypsy theme...Custom cushions are expensive, pillows, you can make yourself...and get the Look you want... a quick trip to the fabric store will reveal all sorts of possibilities.. probably want some fringe too, just for the "look"...
Might want to play a little Django on the music box , just to put you in the mood...

Steve- Very Cool Build!
I just received an order of three factory irregular queen size 1" memory foam toppers from e-bay seller blueridgebed.com for $43.00 with FREE shipping! :D Plan to cut, stack and glue my own seat cousions to 1/4" ply, then wrap with fabric of choice. Just a thought.

Found what I was looking for cushion wise.... and thanks for the ideas and suggestions. Found an on-line source, (didn't bookmark it, hope I can find it again). The place I found has the 2009 Sunbrella floral patterns available in pre-made cushions for outdoor furniture, and they just happen to have cushions in the size I need. It turns out they are considerably less than Knox Foam and material to make my own.

I've haven't gotten back to trailer building yet, and the weekend is slipping away, besides having to make money this morning, I built a joinery work station. Link
