It depends on your state of mind. After a few sips from the Red Jug you kinda loose your mind.

I've heard of some people spending hours roaming the camp grounds looking for it cause they can't remember where they put it.

I went to the website and looked for sites at CI009 for Oct 23-25. It said no availability. Are all sites taken?

OK, then tell me what I'm doing wrong. I go to the Reserve America website, type in Oct 23 for 2 nights for site #CI009. I hit the search campsites button and it comes back Not Available under Online Availability. If you check the site (CI009) for those nights it has an "R" under the dates, not an "A".

CI009 is the number of a specific site, not the loop name, tinksdad has that site. Do a search for any site for that date and you will come up with all the sites that are available, then click on campground map to see where it is in the loop. Here's what I got when I did my search, all the sites listed on the left are open:

Aggie 79 has site 49 and I am at site 51 so you could get 54,55 or56 if you wanted to be near some other Dallas people!

Mark, I hope I read your post right. The "R" means reserved and "A" means available. I don't know how it works in LA but in Kansas, there are some spots in each campground that you CANNOT reserve online and are "first come, first serve" sites. I think it's so that people that don't have computers have a fair chance of getting a campsite and can't bitch about not having a fair chance. Oh, that site maybe a handicap spot, too. I don't know...

Like I said, I hope I understood your post right.

OK, got it. I thought that CI009 was the camp site # (I AM an Aggie after all). Thanks for the help! Got site 54 locked down.

Just got back from New Orleans about 30 minutes ago and one of the first things I did was update the map. (I haven't even unpacked my bag yet!!)

For what it is worth I would recommend that anyone avoid site 8 if possible. I stayed in that space for LCG II and it has quite a side slope to it requiring fairly extreme measures to get the teardrop level.

LCG III was my first time; but personally I don't think there is a "bad" site. At least you're closer to the bath house than I am.

I'll put you on the map in 55 for now. I can always edit if you decide to change sites.
