Galley almost finished

Madjack's thread inspired me to finally post some shots of our galley progress. We've been working very hard on our galley design and I think it turned out pretty well. We still need to make two small drawers and put down the red formica countertop and then it will be finished.

We have a deadline of July 31st to finish our trailer since we are headed up to the R2K5 Wooden Kayak Rendezvous in Port Townsend, WA. the first weekend in August. We started building May 28th (frame was welded together that day) and have worked on it almost every day since! We plan on skinning it with aluminium by Sunday. It's a tight schedule and we wish we had another month to work on it but we'll finish, or at least finish enough to be able to use it for that weekend!
Thanks to this forum we were able to find a lot of answers and ideas that made our build a lot easier than if we had to figure out all this stuff on our own!

When posting pictures the process is easy

click the Img button, the tag "[img]" appears

type the url for the picture

then click the Img button again, the tag "[/img]" to end the string

You had the same start and end tags which is why your post didn't find the pictures

It's hard to tell from your pix. Are you building a 4-foot wide tear or a five-foot wide tear? Just curious

Our Tear is a 5 x 10 model we used the outline of a Modernaire. Kind of looks like a big egg.

Really great looking galley. I second or third all the comments on the slide out cooler panel. Plan on being copied alot, especially by ME.

Thanks everyone. No problem about the cooler drawer, glad to have something to share since we have used the resources of this board to build our teardrop. We didn't have plans, just all the info everyone else has shared with us on this forum.

Looks great. Very similar to what I'm planning (almost there).

I was wondering if you did anything to keep the cooler from sliding out and hitting the hatch while traveling? Or isn't that a problem?

Jim,
since we haven't attached the hatch yet that hasn't been a problem. But we are planning on some sort of latch or door lock like you would use to keep small children out of cabinets. We have so many other things to finish that part isn't a big priority yet.
