As you know there are many ways to share pics on the web. A while back I was watching a computer program and some guy touted Picasa for its ease of use and FREE cost and its many editing features.

I am just starting to use the Picasa Web Album. Have been using Picasa for my internal downloads from my camera to my system for some time now. Have liked those features very much. The FREE EDITNG solutions and automatic backuP of original edited pics is kewl as well. Makes finding any pic on your computer easy as Picasa scours your computer to find every pic (jpg gif, etc) and catalogs them by date in an easy to see side panel. Also as you add pics it auto logs them. If you make duplicates = same. Overall I have liked the internal use so decided to try the public use on the web of this product. NOW I am finding very handy tools for displaying and sharing or not sharing pics on the web. Other options like maps to the locations of the pics is a good feature. There are many positives to using Picasa. Click here to see the extent of power, Picasa 3 affordsthe novice as well as the expert poster of pics on your computer and as the added benefit to the web for sharing with people in amounts you choose.

Oh BTW ~ the feature I like best about the off line Picasa is the "Find picture on your computer option" For those that may have saved a pic to a foreign location this is a very useful tool. Well now that I think about it the powerful editing tools are effective, forgiving and FREE.

As a side note:

There are many picture resize programs out there. And just as many people who enjoy the program they have worked with. I wanted a program that was super simple to use on one pic or multiple pics to resize with very little effort. This chore can be a major stumbling block for the novice, but with a plan for getting them to an easy (GUI) there is hope for an relatively easy learning curve. Ya ~ right ~

The Kite reflects and conveys suddenness of "One Fell Swoop" and the beauty of resizing pictures with ease, quickly ~ SUDDENLY

I use PiXresizer- Free Image Resizer, to resize pics in one folder or singles to fit the forums restriction size in one fell swoop. The two button clicks to do this function for a whole bunch of pics has become a go~to program for me. Know this subject is controversial as pet programs of users just on this forum are countless. The reason I like PiXresizer is the USER INTERFACE is so intuitive. If you have ever tried to explain to an novice why she or he needs to downsize a picture for the forum use, you would appreciate the help PiXresizer is by its very friendly user interface. Most people grasp quickly the click to open the program and then the 2 clicks to "Load the Picture" & "Save the Picture" at a custom size of say 600x450 or 850x652 as this forum says is max size.

In my experience teaching people who are novice to a computer the whys and how~too's as well as the where's of pictures can be a daunting teaching exercises. The grasping of uPloading, resizing, and storing so as to have this new digital camera, computer user know where and what size there pics are, is a floundering experience most of the time for them and to me as a teacher. So I say verily on to them ~ choose a program with a visual GUI = user interface that helps you remember in steps how to save pics after resizing. PiXresizer is that program that I can go to that has better results in my experience.

I know it's nothing like the weather that your getting now, but Parker, AZ and the South West in general is getting a bit of weather ourselves

Parker is down to the Low 50's for the high and the low 40's and 30's for the low....not bad if I was in MO. but still not exactly water ski weather this week.

I was coming back through the Cajon pass here in So Cal last night and was getting snow, got worse over night, listening to the local news you'd think we were having a hundred year blizzard or something, but we haven't had a real rain like this for more than a year, sorry for those in the burn areas but, we really do need this.
