We did something fun and special tonight

Postby starleen2 » Tue Dec 16, 2008 12:34 am

We did something fun and special tonight – I was given the opportunity to play as one of Santa’s helpers for a radio-thon for the empty stocking toy drive and Blue Christams (police toy drive for abused children)in MT pleasant – The girls came along as assistants. It was hosted at a local motorsports dealership so the sleigh was replaced by a Rhino ATV! All the kids though it was really cool. We raised over $3,000.00 and received many new toys for underprivileged kids. This Wednesday is distribution time – We will serve 1,827 families this year. Thanks to all of you who are in the giving spirit this season.

Image  Well I can see some resemblance.

Hope everyone remembered to buy one extra something for a drive in their area. And please remember teenagers have needs too. Gift certificates work really well.

Santa Scott that was real nice. You make a good Santa I am sure, and the girls make good helpers. It is so rewarding to do something like that for people in need, especially the little ones at Christmas time.

Thats great. Do you get to wrap and hand out the presents? I get gifts for the giving tree at my parish, but because someone took it upon themselves to get a child a used diaper years back and wrap it up as a present, we can no longer wrap the presents. Understandable, I guess.
But that is great. I love the ATV idea!

Glad you had fun.
