Hey there John and Mona,
How you guys doing?
Settle down?????? what's that?????
I've had a lot going on and Christmas is next week.
Our girls and I are going on a cruise to the Bahamas in January,
Then it will be time to work in the shop,
Then get ready for Beavers Bend.....
Then think about Cloudcroft.....

Hope you have a Blessed Christmas and a great winter also.

Julie, the Upper Fir campground is also a group campground and has been reserved for the same weekend. There are a few campgrounds real close to the Lower fir.

Reservations can not be made at these campgrounds. It is first come first serve.
The first four on the list are very close to the Lower fir campground.

No cruise for John & Mona, we're painting the inside of the house, the kids are coming home from college, I hope they will help with some of the chores.

Right now I'm home sick with a cough that I have had for a couple months now and I just got a cold on top of that. For work we've been converting houses from copper wire to fiber optics. The temperatures up here were in the teens. Catching a cold ontop of a lingering cough has broken me down to a sickie. I even passed out once when the cough took over my body.

Hey, we are doing great, staying up on the bills and keeping warm. Life is darn good.

Miss you two

If I'm not mistaken, Upper Fir is across the road form Lower Fir. We could have two groups if there's enough interest! Just a thought!

You have to drive through the Lower Fir group campground to get to the Upper Fir group campground.

The campgrounds super close are the Apache campground, Silver campground, Saddle campground and Saddle overflow. These do not take reservations, it is first come first serve.

Have an acquaintance on another forum from San Antonio. He's a teacher & during the Christmas/New Year holidays he took three young asian students on a several day camping trip to western Texas & New Mexico. They spent some time in the Cloudcroft area & sent these pix. I'm pretty sure this isn't the road to Lower Fir but it's typical of the NF roads in the area. I'm lookin' forward to the July 'campout' but glad I ain't there now ;) Thought some of the folks planning to attend might enjoy seeing what it's like there in winter. He says he'll try to send more pix.

OH MY !!... Thanks so much for the pics Harvey !!!!

Even with the snow, it's gorgeous.... I have definitely got to figure out how to make it there and go camping with my friends!!!

Linda might need to put a "ticker" on here with the campground.
Or I'll get one for you and send it to you to post... what date is for the actually START ... July 1?

Julie

Julie & Linda: :)

I took the liberty of creating a ticker and put it on the first post of this thread in two places.
