porch light placement

ok if i put it over the door thats where all the bugs will be
(and yes i have a amber light ,but you still get bugs)
or should i move it back past the door like to the middle of
the tear?
just looking for some imput or past info

Since Tears are not that big anyway , why worry about the location of the light. Any where you mount it , it will be close to the door won't it ? I used amber light too & mounted them on the opening side of the doorway, that way my body won't block the light when i am getting in or out , so I can see the ground before I put my feet down. Jusy my thoughts on this. Keep up the hard work!

I mounted mine below the door.

It is an LED light and it matches the LED trailer lights.

It casts a nice light on the ground below the door.

Verrry clever idea! After all, I've never thought the idea was to have a porch light in the sense of a porch light on a home. But I've opened many a tent flap to put on my shoes for a nightly visit into the woods only to wonder what I'm putting my feet on outside the tent. This makes a lot of sense. I've got a long list accumulating of ideas I want to use on my tear project, and that one definately will be on it.

If you put it over the doorway, won't your big head block the light when you're sitting in the doorway so that you can't see the ground anyway?

What about that cheesy neon-tube lighting that they sell for sporty asian cars...wind it around under the teardrop out of sight and click it on for a subtle glow...nice.

My teardrop will not have a 'Porch', so I am going to put it on the side of the tear towards the back of the door on each side.
