I've been making it using titebond 2 and sawdust, but wanted other options.

also been using Bondo, but want to use more wood less bondo.

epoxy and wood dust (not saw dust) or micro balloons..... very tough stuff and does not shrink much.

I use the epoxy method too. Much better and stronger than the titebond. I use saw dust, but it requires a lot of sanding.

I get wood dust from model shops.... fyi...

I have some around from my r/c model building....

I also use bondo, or auto body filler where I need more and it will be covered by paint or some other coating....

My tear is a woody, so at the beginning of the project, I took several different shades of wood scraps. Then I used my 10"-96 tooth carbide Plywood blade which makes very fine dust and I made a number of cuts in each shade of wood. I saved this sawdust in separate containers and it is used separately or mixed depending on the shade of the wood being filled. I use it with an epoxy mix. Not my idea, it came from an oldtime cabinet worker down the road from me.

I also do radio control models, so the glue that I use comes from the LHS, 30 minute cure stuff. Mix the glue like you normally would, and them add wood dust to it and mix until it gets the consistancy of putty.

yes, kind of like a peanut butter consistency.... spreadable, but not too thin, don't want it to sag.

Another thing to remember: You want to mix it as thick as you can and still apply it..............otherwise it will be too dark and will not stain or dye properly.

Save the dust collected in your orbital sander and mix it with epoxy. It matches whatever it is that you're sanding.
