A Tragic BBQ incident

Postby len19070 » Fri Jan 02, 2009 7:22 am

New Years day I had decided to do something different for the "you must eat Pork New Years Day" tradition.

So a few days before I had cooked down some Ribs, Made up some BBQ sauce and started marinading the Ribs.

On New years Day at about 12;00 noon I placed them on the grill with plans of them being done by 5-5;30 that evening.

It was a bitter cold day yesterday but some how myself and 2 other friends didn't mind it as we stood around the warmth of the grill reminiscing and toasting the events of the previous year.

At about 5;15 I went outside for my final check on the Ribs and decided they were ready.

And after all the confusion of removing the Ribs, putting them in trays, cutting them and securing the fire.

We brought them into the house, they were excellent and we all had a nice meal.

The next morning I went out to the Grill area just to check things, looking for forgotten silverware, plates or trays that may have been left out.

Then to my horror on the side table of my Gas Grill there it was,

A Frozen Beer, mistakenly left behind

:crying1: in all the "Hub Bub" of bringing in the ribs.

Left to endure the frigid overnight temperatures...all by its self.

Please, Don't let this happen to you.

Well, at least it was only a Natural Light. If it had been a REAL beer then it truly would have been a tragedy!

A REAL beer would not have frozen... real beer has alcohol in it as an anti-freeze....

I must admit, it was my Sons Beer.

Hes young and doesn't know about "good Beer" drinking yet. But at only 18 I can't encourage this to much.

I should have also mentioned it was a Smoker the Ribs were done on.

But I was so upset..even at a Natural Light beer had being left behind that I forgot a few details.

BTW John that's why when ever I go Ice Fishing I only drink Canadian Beer.

It won't Freeze.
(neither does my Windsor)

My wife has signed me up for a support group so I can sort this out.

I hope the therapy helps.

Happy Trails
