Steve, your paint job is looking good! I'm glad you're happy with the results so far...I know you ended up re-doing the original Puffin. What are you using for undercoating and paint? How are you applying it?

I'm using Pettit Easypoxy. It's a marine one-part polyurethane. I'm also using Pettit's white undercoater.

As with any paint job, it's all in the prep. :)

Another crummy warm and rainy day.

UPS arrived and brought the foam backing for the roof, but they didn't bring the tonneau. Grrr! I guess I won't be finishing this thing this weekend. I was hoping to put it up for auction this Sunday, but I may wait until next Sunday.

I did get the graphics on today. Now I can start working on sealing the bottom and underside with bed liner.

I plan to work on the interior tonight. I should just about finish it tonight, but don't see any reason why it wouldn't be finished Saturday.

I'll get the foam installed this weekend too, so that when the tonneau does arrive all I have to do it trim it, seal it, and fasten it.

I have the insert roof trim with me now, so I may bend it and get it ready too.

I clamped a piece of the trim up on the camper to see how easily it would bend. No problems with the bends.

Notice the reflection of the clamps in the paint. ;)

I have the polar white insert for the trim too. I was debating whether I should get white or black. I think either would look as nice.

Have you seen it in red, Steve? That would bring a splash of color to the roof ...

Check with a camper-shell/truck-topper store.

BTW ... lookin' absolutely bitchin'!

CHEERS!

I agree, red insert would be cool.

Miriam C. - Yup, I will install a window in the door. Speaking of door, I really should build one of those.

S. Heisley - Awesome - thanks!

grant whipp - I hadn't thought of red. That would look good. 8)

planovet - I'm already looking for some. I found some on Ebay, but I don't need 100 feet. I'll order some red next week.

I got the pipe cut for the trim today. I also got the insulation cut and put int place. I have to sand the trim, and then I'll paint them red.

Tedious work! I think it will look cool when the insulation is wrapped in fabric and the trim is painted. Should make it pop.

Now that everything fits, time to pull it out and begin wrapping/painting.
