How cool...she's got a little of the Red, White and Blue in her (American flag). Yes, Hiker Chick would be a great source for answers. Gidget is such a beautiful dog and it seems her mama has her well trained.

She is adorable!!!! Love those videos! Now you need a live webcam on her so we can be enchanted by her antics 24/7. They are magic!

For uploading videos, check out www.viddler.com After much research into posting videos, that's where I put Gidget's bikejoring videos (search: Igidgerod).

She'll be teething soon and chewing anything within reach. Leather shoes -- including three pair of black pumps -- were Gidget's favorite chew toy.

I finally learned not to leave shoes on the floor.

Hiker Chick if you read this. What size is that 1st harness we need or collar if she weighs in at 12 lbs. There,s just too many to choose from.

Here they specify that no choking type collar to be used.

Finn -- I'd ask the breeder what size her neck is now. She's growing so fast and sounds like she's bigger than Gidget was at her age ( who was 11 pounds at 9 weeks when she flew back with me from Colorado).

From White Pine Outfitters I think I'd go with the 9/16" soft-slip small (10-16"). But I'm not sure that's not too big to start so that's why I'd talk to the breeder. Have been using these since Gidget was a baby but I can't remember what was the first size she wore.

The soft-slip is very popular with Samoyed peops but you need to carefully adjust it so she can't back out of it.

Aw, bringing baby home -- how exciting!

Yuck. Hope you all get better soon. Potty training puppies is hard enough when you're well.

Meanwhile, here are some gratuitous Gidget pics. From the National Arboretum yesterday. Faux Greek ruins built from Capitol columns removed during a 1958 renovation.
