Mike, when you went to Springfield you went through the Ozarks but in my mind the Ozarks are all the rivers and hills between St. Louis and Tulsa, OK. The major highway (I-44) that goes through that area is just a dent of what the Ozarks have to offer. You have to get into the nooks and crannies of South central MO, Northern Arkansas and NE Oklahoma to see what a beauty this area of the country has to offer.

I'll dig some photos up and email them to you....... my pics are scattered all over my computer C: drive

I may be going to a vintage rally in the smokies on the 16 but this may be a good on to go on also. I may not float but I will keep the fires going to warm up and dry off all that float.

Denice and I would love to come down there in May. She will still be teaching then and May gets kind of crazy for teachers, but, what the heck, she can score the kids' projects in the car on the way down. ;)

Oops!!! I just remembered one important complication. Our daughter, Teagan, will be graduating from Missouri State in Springfield the following Friday. Our participation will depend on how crazy things are and how well I budget for the graduation gift.

Anyway, I have it on the calendar. I hope we can come.

Jeff, is there a particular area or group of numbers we should ask for when reserving a site???? Have you contacted the CG and clued them in to our coming...enquiring minds wanna know since the CG map shows only primitive sites on the river, and the rest scattered elsewhere.......

What Jack said.

Sounds fun, we even have friends in the area to visit.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

Jack, the campground hosts know of our intentions of throwing this shindig. Their campground map doesn't show every site but is mearly a generic layout of the area. I asked to be over in the Hillside West, Hillside East and Walnut Grove area because they all have electric and water hookups. The whole area I just mentioned is, MAYBE, half again as big as a football field (1.5 times, for those scoring at home) and the campsites are ringed around the edge with a HUGE middle area.

Let them know you are with the teardrop gathering in May and they'll know where you need to be.

Here's the link to some pics of the campground:

If you want to you can. I know it's a little ways off but they will take reservations whenever.

I notice in one of the pictures they have a zip line. What do you suppose the weight limit is on one of those. I'd hate to drag my knees. :scratchthinking:

Scott, I don't know where that zip line is, I've never seen it along the river. Looks like fun to me!! It may have gotten torn down when the river got up high.
