Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Juneaudave - I think so too - and practical with the insulation. I'm thinking a thicker material like a fleece or canvas for the insulation wrap. I may tackle that tomorrow.

shopfabricator - I'm kind of stuck in the middle with my designs. I love the shapes of the old campers, but I love the interiors of the new ones. I'm hoping I'm not the only one.

Donutboy - Thank you sir. No, no AC in this unit, but this unit modular so it could be designed for an AC, and I have an electrical hatch installed if the new owner wants 110v power.

I took advantage of the warm weather before the front rolls in to get the bedliner material on the camper.

I'm still waiting for the tonneau, and as soon as that comes in I'll get it on and trimmed.

I'll get some better pics tomorrow when I get it out of the garage.

Steve, In the short time you've done all this, I'm still trying to cut my sidewalls. I am awestruck by your speed, craftsmanship, and design ingenuity.

I'm just barely started with #1 and the better half has given me the go ahead on #2 - a standy - thanks in large part to Steve's latest.

tinksdad - Thanks. Everyone should have a standy! :D

aggie79 - I put in a lot of hours when I work on this thing. The first days are the worst, and I don't have a worktable, so all of my cutting is done on the garage floor which is tough on the back. I'm going to make a jig for the next build so I can crank them out with the router. That's really cool that you go the go ahead on the next one already - these little campers are a lot of fun to design/build/camp.

TPMcGinty - Yes, I'm putting this one up for auction when it's complete. I built it to sell it. I'm going to take any money that I make on this one and put it into my camper to help offset the cost. 8)

The cold front came in today and I'm going to take a day off from building. I need a recharge. I'm going to be a blob on the couch and watch some football.

Hi Steve,

Really interesting build... just like your last one!

A quick question, if I may? I read in your thread that the height of the puffin is 6 foot six, and that it can be parked in a standard height garage.

My question is what are the interior height dimensions, i.e. how tall is it inside?

I also see you have installed a drop floor. How deep? (I couldn't find it in your thread).

Thanks.

The dropped floor is 10". I haven't installed it yet, but I have it cut and I need to glass it before dropping it into place. The dropped floor box measures 44" x 18" x 10" deep.

When installed it should give a 6' clearance (5'11 or so with insulation). :D

Had to go back to my real life - work. UPS did deliver the tonneau for the roof, and I have the padding. I'm going to fiberglass tape the seams on the roof before installing it. I should have the roof on tomorrow, and I'm going to start on the door too. It's been cold (50's) here so I've been a wimp.

I don't have any reason to believe it won't be up for sale this weekend.

I finished the epoxy work on the roof today. I had to fill in a few low spots with epoxy/woodflour mixture and apply fiberglass tape to the seam. The roof will be protected by a tonneau, but the fiberglass tape is placed on for extra protection. This is one area that I never want to have to worry about leaking.

I used 6oz. tape.

The tonneau material. This stuff is heavier than I imagined.

Wow, that tape looks like just the thing I need for the roof of the Widget. Did you put some epoxy down first and then lay the tape down? Where did you get that stuff from?
