Thought I had better chime in. I am still planning to make it. Truck is currently down with a broken water pump. And since I am driving the company van I haven't as yet replaced the pump. There is always tomorrow!

I just posted a reply in the Raccoon Lake thread and realized it should be here. I'm heading to NY for 5 days later this week and won't be on a computer for a bit.

Two weeks till the Shivaree! I'm planning on bringing Caribbean Red Beans and Rice (Kurt I can provide rice for the gumbo as well) and the fixins to make sausage gravy for breakfast Sunday morning. Bob H said he has us covered on the biscuits. If there is anything else I should bring let me know.

Does anyone have a potential head count. I know only the hardy and crazy among us will show up but with this group that could be a sizable number. It's probably hard to tell till we get a better fix on the weather. I just hope we don't get anymore ice storms that will make driving dangerous.

No real count but we've had about 10 show interest and say they'd try and make it.
My brother is coming with his Pop Up, That should convince him in the way of the Tear Drop. Everyone be nice to him

Weather permitting I'll be there Friday.

Food is looking good, What should I bring

 Ice Cream

Apple Cider, cinnamon, everclear, brown sugar, I am sure others I missed and no recipe ( damn it) .
I got close last August when I made a batch but it wasn't nearly as good as his. I guess we will have to hunt him down and ask for the real mccoy recipe.

Bob, I'll try to get a recipe from a fellow camper in Chicago. I'll let you know what I come up with.

In the meantime, here's one for "Apple Pie" to keep you going.

Except for the everclear (substitute Captain Morgan) and apples, that sounds like my recipe for Hot Buttered Rum.

Thanks for reminding me, I have to put that on my list of things to bring. :tipsy:

Anybody notice ....................

Gallon cider ~ 1/2 gallon apple juice ~ 2 cups everclear

Then below "makes 2 1/2 gallon"

lesson learned ~ write down the recipe before you start sampleing

This sound very close to Raps

How funny you should mention Jeff's Party tent, I was thinking of bringing my big round kerosene heater if needed, it puts off some pretty good heat.
Hey maybe our food won't freeze before we get to out seats

Scott,

We need a small (I'm thinking maybe 2-3" high by 4-5" long to fit on a trailer frame or bumper) decal that says;

I survived the Shivaree, January 2009, Mounds State Park, IN"

With some sort of graphic. A badge of honor for those that spend the night (the entire night 8) ).

OUCH !

technically we did

didn't leave till 1 am

Some dummy left the chimney to the wood stove and the heater was woefully inadequate for -15 w/c with a plastic roof.

I am better prepared having lived thru the 08 shivaree !
