Help w fishing pole, lures, fuel

Can anyone help with my questions...

First is an old fishing pole.
It is unique (to me) in that it is made of steel and is just 44 inches long.
I'm trying to determine age.
I don't think it has much value, but am curious.

Second are the lures.
I am downsizing my collection of "stuff" I've collected just becase I could...because I just don't need so much stuff anymore.

Third, I have a 1968 coleman 502 stove.

Can I use unleaded pump gasoline, or only coleman fuel?
Still works fine, but I don't have anymore coleman fuel...

And last, I have an old model 395 coleman stove.

It was in bad shape, but has been sandblasted and painted.
Far from perfect, and missing the tank, but still old and scarce...
Any information, or interest?

I'm interested on the stoves I've been wanting one of the 500's But a 502 will suffice. The hot plate is one I have been interested in finding also. I think I can fabricate a nice tank for it or find a surviving tank.

The rod is 1920s/early 1930s, pre ww2.. Value around $20
The reel is a phleuger Aakron, good reel I use one a few times a year, $10 to $20 depending on condition.
the jitterbugs are $5 to $10 apiece, more if they were still in the box.
The flatfish or lazy ike is about $10
the one with the propellers I cant get a make or model of it but it could be a heddon or shakespere, value could be up to near $50..
Cool old fishing guide story......
I had a guy from florida call me and ask if I did any guiding on big cormorant lake near where I live, I said yes. He booked up a couple evenings with me because he was going to be in the area.
He spent alot of time on the lake as a kid, his grandparents owned an old resort there. He had not been back since the mid 1950s, this is almost 40 years later.
The first evening we spent cruising the lake and looking over what was left of his childhood fishing grounds, times had really changed, alot more cabins, resorts are all gone.
He wanted to fish some of his old spots. When we pulled up one one of his old haunts he took a wood box out of his pack and it was choked with old vintage wood plugs that he said had not seen the water since he moved away, he had sat on those lures for a short lifetime to re use them.
I did quick mental inventory of what he had and guessed it near $1000
We caught a few fish and had a ball reminicing about our experiences on the lake..One of the more memorable people Ive had in the boat..
Ive got a big book of antique fishing lures and reels so if you have one and a really good picture or name I should be able to identify them..Just holler.. Paul

The 502 stove should only be run on Coleman fuel. Using unleaded gas will ruin the generator.

Last year I did not see the gal jug of coleman fuel but this year they have it again for about $8.00

Thank you for the information!

I rarely use the stove, and couldn't see buying a gallon of fuel.
I got an offer on it today, and really don't need it anymore, so I'll just pass it on to the new owner, assuming the deal goes through.
If not, I'll stick it back on the shelf, because sooner or later, I'll come across a half empty jug of fuel somewhere...

Thought I'd add some more pictures of the 395 stove.
Mark is working on an offer for it, but thought I should still share the pictures, as they are pretty rare.

At one point I found a photo of one on the Web, but it is gone now.
The closest to it is this 395c.

Not sure of the "c" designation, but probably stands for "Cabin" as this, and my stove were larger heavier models designed for cabins and trailers.
The owner has it listed as a trailer stove, and it may be, but mine was orininally the same cream and black it wears now...
It/they, date to the 1930's.

That's just missing a tank. If you can find one that has the valve mounted on the left side rather than the right side you'r good to go. Or turn the entire generator assembly an extra turn and put new brackets on the tank to hold it in place....

That's an interesting story.

I like hanging out with the old guys too.
Lots of neat stories lost everyday 'cause there is no one to listen to them anymore...

Here are the lures and a couple other things since you offered...

If you or someone else wants to own them, just be reasonably fair.
I have no need for them, and need to downsize.
I'd sooner sell them as a lot.

I'm not looking to sell the steel rod and reel pictured earlier.
Still works as a good decoration on my wall...

Well if the 502 is not gone yet and the offer dose not go through wal mart dose sell a quart size of fule. Hey also if the offer dose not work out and you still want to sell it I would like it.
